Homeless No More

Today my parents signed the papers on our new house.
We still have to call the movers and we don't know how soon we can get moved in but everyone is a little relieved and excited.

Independence Day Weekend

In Ohio, where we're from, fireworks are illegal. So we've never really done any. Our only firework experiences were various city displays. But in Nebraska, fireworks are very legal, haha. There were vendors on every corner and then some so we stopped after dinner one day and got a few things. I got my own little variety kit, and for a first timer it didn't disappoint, haha. It actually had a lot of stuff in it and it was pretty fun.

Saturday we went to see some people my parents know from the internet and we hung out with them and they did a lot of fireworks there too.
Sunday we went to a parade in the city of Ralston. They take their parades very seriously, haha. There were a ton of people there and vendors and the parade itself was enormous. It took two hours for the whole parade. Needless to say we all have beautiful sunburns.
That evening we went to the church we've been attending and they had some food and we hung out for a while. We all did the rest of our fireworks and waited for the city's fireworks to start.
Then we had a much needed sleep-in the next day, haha.

Week in Review

I'm a little rusty on my blogging skills I guess :P
Earlier this week we went down town and walked across the bridge over the Missouri River that goes to Iowa.
Afterwards, we walked around Old Market a little bit which is a quaint little part of down town where they have a variety of cool shops and places to eat.
We went to a play date with a family my mom met from a Down Syndrome group and everybody had fun getting out of the hotel and seeing other people. The family was really nice and even though it was a hundred degrees outside, it was worth it, haha.
Today we found a movie theater and went to see Cars 2. The theater was really nice and the movie wasn't bad either ;]

Today I got to experience a Super Target. I never knew they even existed until we moved and I saw one in Iowa. It was pretty huge. I needed some tennis shoes because there's a bike path right near our hotel but I didn't bring any good shoes. So I got some. Then went on a four mile walk with my brother and my dog.

Tonight for dinner we went to a place called Ingredient, where they serve a variety of foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the freshest ingredients. It was really cool. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, it was clean and the people were nice there. I chose the crunchy chipotle chicken wrap with fries and an Italian pomegranate soda. The wrap was delicious but it was really spicy, which I guess I could have assumed from "chipotle". The Italian soda was weird, it was mostly soda water with a tiny bit of flavor so it was kind of bitter. However my mouth was on fire half the time so I couldn't even taste it so it worked out in the end.

Tornado Watch

Yesterday evening my family was driving around looking at neighborhoods we might like to live in. All of a sudden some big black clouds rolled in and sirens started going off.
It was getting pretty dark and creepy so we got out of there. Some people lost power, but luckily we made it safely back to our hotel and all we really got was a bit of a thunderstorm.
